ON Sunday 2nd April, three Spirit of Monmouth runners took part in the Manchester Marathon.
Monmouth dentist Gareth Jones completed the 26.2-mile course in 2:59:59, a new personal best marathon time for him and the first time a Spirit of Monmouth runner has completed a marathon in under three hours.
David Mather finished the race in three hours 28 minutes and Madeleine Newcomb achieved a time of four hours 27 minutes - placing her second in her age category.
Tony Hardy completed the Solihull Half Marathon in two hours 19 minutes.
Closer to home, Alice Taylor completed the Cardiff Bay 10km in 38 minutes 34 seconds; the sixth fastest senior female, of more than 1,000 competitors in the category. Martin Blakebrough achieved a time of 45 minutes 23 seconds. Vicky Evans finished in one hour four minutes and Rachel Evans completed the race in one hour 13 minutes.
