With this year's WRC driver's title settled in favour of Sebastian Ogier on the recent Rally France, and the all conquering Volkswagen motorsport team poised to wrap up the manufacturers' title on the penultimate round Rallye Spain in two weeks' time, this should mean Wales Rally GB will see a straight fight with all the teams and drivers going for victory on the WRC finale for 2013.

"I like the rally, the stages are very good," said Ogier of the Wales Rally.

But when the Great Orme was mentioned the Frenchman joked: "Bar that one, I have not good memories of that tarmac."

VW's great rivals Citroen may run a third car on Wales Rally GB with Irishman Kris Meeke at the wheel.

Meeke did both Finland and Australia for the team this year but crashed on both events.

"It goes without saying that I would love to do Wales Rally GB for Citroen," he said.

There will be a lot of drivers looking to impress on Wales Rally GB to secure a drive for 2014, so this should lead to an interesting fight for positions at the front.

Former Formula One star Robert Kubica has taken the lead in the WRC 2 category in his Lotos-backed Citroen DS3 RRC.

The very talented Polish driver is being linked to a works drive with both Citroen and Ford in 2014.

Kubica has impressed many with his performances this year, but he's made no secret of his desire to return to Formula One at some point.

Mark Higgins makes a long awaited return to the event.

The ever popular Manxman will be at the wheel of a Fiesta R5 run by the MSL motorsport team.

Former British champion Keith Cronin will be looking to secure a six round programme in a Citroen DS3 RRC next year, by taking victory in the Citroen Top Driver series.

It comes down to a two horse race, a straight shootout with Sebastian Chardonnet in a similar Citroen DS3 RT.

"You can't take anything for granted on GB, one mistake and it will all be over," said Cronin.

"I am sure Seb will be pushing hard as well, but this is a fantastic opportunity for me to secure a paid drive next year."

Both the two and three-day national rallies are now full, there were 100 places up for grabs and it filled up very quickly.

This gives spectators a great opportunity to see a unique mix of cars.

One of these entries, the brand new Winner Garage Skoda Fabia of Bob Morgan and Adie Williams, will be looking to get valuable mileage in the new car.

The car, which was built from a bare shell by Bob himself, made its debut on the Woodpecker stages and despite a few small teething problems finished 14th overall.

"We were pleased with how it went, Bob has ironed out a few small issues we had," said Williams.

"He's going to do the WLE Rally Time Trial as a pre-GB test, then straight into it.

"The event will give us more valuable mileage, and time to play around with settings.

"Although not sure how he'll cope with the long stages in Myherin and Hafren, he'll need a coffee break halfway through. I'll have to get him on the spinach, but really looking forward to the event." For details go to http://www.walesrallygb.com">www.walesrallygb.com
