SUNDAY 27th September will see a six mile walk taking in Mordiford, part of the Wye Valley Walk, Nupend Farm and the ancient woodland of Haugh Woods, the name deriving from that of a Saxon owner.

Some 350 hectares in area, Haugh Woods is one of the top ten nationally important woods in the country with over 600 species of butterflies and moths recorded within it.

The walk will leave Glendower Street car park is 9.20am. The aim is to start to walk at 10.00am, so the leaving time from the car park in Monmouth will vary each week.

New members are always welcome to join Monmouth Rambling and Hillwalking Club.
