Over the last two months, squash players in Monmouth have been battling it out to win the local annual squash championships. The championships, run by Tej Saran (squash coach) consisted of the top 16 players in Monmouth. The first round displayed some excellent squash and rallies along with a major upset, seeing the number two seed crash out in round one. The quarter-finals and semi-finals were of a high standard and very competitive. The stand out semi–final was between the Brace brothers, with older brother Dave Brace squeezing past to reach the final, where he met Andy Salter, (pictured left). The final itself was a spectacle, again with some long rallies and exciting squash. Dave Brace (pictured right) eventually pulled through, winning 3-0. However, the score line did not reflect how close the game was. A big "thank you" is sent by organisers to all players who took part in the event and congratulations to Dave Brace on winning the Monmouth Squash Championships 2014.
