Monmouth RFC presented three new life membership awards to Phill Brunt, Jeff Scourfield and Tony Bevan at the Sportsman's Dinner on 16th February.

Phill, Jeff and Tony have represented the club in an administrative capacity for a collective 120 years of service. They have been stalwarts throughout their time at the club.

The new life membership awards were presented by trustees Wyn Hughes and Byron Hapgood, and club president Rex Tabb.

Monmouth RFC trustee Byron Hapgood said: "The life membership award is the highest award that the club can bestow on its administrators.

"All three gentlemen have been incredible supporters for the club over the years and without individuals such as these, Monmouth RFC would not be the club that it is today. Thank you and well done to you all."

The Sportsman Dinner was hosted by MC Wayne Weston and organised by Andrew Lewis and the Monmouth RFC Social Committee.

Guest speakers Garin Jenkins and Ceri Sweeney were very entertaining and comedian Colin Price raised the roof on what was a fantastic evening.

An auction was held on the evening, with the club raising £800 in aid of the A Big Wish for Chase charity appeal.

Chase Vaughan is a six-year-old Monmouth girl who suffers from cerebral palsy. Chase needs a life changing operation, which costs £40,000, to ensure that she is able to walk properly into the future.
