CHEPSTOW Racecourse's meeting on Monday 30th March took place on soft going under grey skies, a day notable for what may be the last winner that A.P. McCoy will ride at Chepstow.

The Eaglehaslanded (4/5 fav) proved a workmanlike winner of the 2 mile 4 furlong novices' hurdle for the Paul Nicholls stable.

Struggling in third three out, he needed rousting by Sam Twiston-Davies before taking a narrow lead at the last and outstaying Filatore for a two length win.

Second favourite Kingfisher Creek, who was a further two lengths back in third, forfeited more than that amount by being reluctant to start and looks an awkward ride.

The 2m mares' hurdle went to Kassis (5/1), who Brendan Powell moved to the front at the second last and drew clear on the run in to beat Abundantly and Pandorica by a comfortable four lengths. Jamie Snowden trained the winner.

Shoddy jumping in the 3m chase meant just two were left in contention approaching the third last.

Ballybough Pat had jumped the best but he could not give 18 pounds to Candide (5/2 jt fav), who took the lead at the last, bumping into the runner-up as he did so and giving him little room against the rail to respond.

James Banks rode the two-length winner for Andy Turnell.

Sue Gardner's Tea Time Fred (11/4), narrowly denied last time out, gained compensation in the 2m4f hurdle.

Ridden by the trainer's daughter Lucy, he led after the third last and ran on strongly to score by ten lengths from Sonny The One in a style that suggests there might be more to come from him.

With A.P. McCoy riding here, probably for the last time before his retirement, a winner for him was very much wanted and Rock N Rhythm obliged with minimum fuss in the 2m maiden hurdle.

The 4/7 favourite from the Jonjo O'Neill yard had a handy lead entering the back straight, was well clear by the third last and won

unchallenged.

Mountain of Mourne finished second, 11 lengths away.

A tricky four-horse 2m chase closed the card.

It was a slowly-run affair and they were all in with a chance until the fourth last.

Sublime Talent (3/1) then out-jumped his rivals and grabbed an advantage which he and Paul Moloney retained without maximum effort all the way to the line.

Both the winner and Zama Zama, the two length runner-up, come from the Evan Williams stable.
