MONMOUTH Town FC lost out twice in the Gwent Premier top tier last week, but will be looking to get back to winning ways at the Sportsground on Wednesday night (April 17, kick-off 6.30pm) in their final home game against Clydach Wasps.

The Kingfishers have had a busy end of season fixture list, as they catch up with postponed games.

Last Wednesday saw them lose out 2-1 to visitors Pill, who scored twice early in the second half before Dan MacDonald gave the hosts some hope with 25 minutes to play.

And then on Saturday they suffered a 3-1 reverse at the hands of Caerleon, Craig Lewis with a last-minute consolation, leaving them sixth.

Chepstow Town made it three wins on the bounce though, winning 1-0 at home to Aberbargoed Buds in a mid-table Ardal South East clash thanks to an own goal minutes into the second half.

But the Jockeys 2nds lost 4-2 away to Blaenavon, leaving them second from bottom in South East Reserves.

Gwent Premier One basement boys Usk Town fought hard at home against leaders Ponthir before losing 2-0, but their 2nds won 5-0 at home to Cwmffrwdoer Sports 2nds in Gwent Central 2.
