MONMOUTH Golf Club is under new management after being taken on by two of the people behind Forest Hills in Coleford.

The 130-year-old club was acquired last year and has been rebranded and relaunched this month as Monmouth Golf.

Listed as directors at Company House are Forest builder Mike Etheridge and Gary Jones, who are directors of Forest Hills, and Gloucestershire PGA professional Richard Ballard.

The new team posted: "We’re excited to announce that Monmouth Golf is now under new management!

"There’s a lot of work happening behind the scenes and we appreciate your patience while we continue to improve the course, facilities and overall experience.

"Our goal is simple: to turn this into a proper golf course that everyone can be proud of."

Listing current green fees and membership prices, which they describe as "great value for golfers of all ages and abilities", they add: "Whether you’re a regular player or just getting started, we’d love to welcome you."

Describing the course as "parkland golf at its best", they said it was "starting to take shape... and we are happy with the progress over the last six months"
