Monmouth Town Reserves 3 Croesyceiliog Reserves 3

MONMOUTH Town Reserves conceded a three goal lead to draw against Croesyceiliog at the Sportsground on Saturday (16th January).

The home side looked comfortable in the first half, going into the break two goals ahead.

Monmouth stretched their lead to 3-0 after half time, and had the chance to score another to perhaps secure the win.

However, the visitors fought back, scoring twice to keep them in the game. Both sides had chances, with Monmouth goalkeeper Lee Williams winning a one-on-one to make an excellent save, pushing the ball wide with one hand. Despite this, Croesy equalised with 20 minutes remaining with a curling shot finding the roof of the net.

There was no further drama, and the game finished with the sides level to leave questions as to how Monmouth let what should have been a comfortable win slip away.
