THREE early goals set the tone for North Gloucestershire One table-toppers Redbrook Rovers, as they ran out 5-1 winners away to Harrow Hill 2nds on Saturday.

Two cheeky chips from Ieuan Frost and another from Joe Stephens put them in front, as Larsson Brown and Tom Maxted ran the show.

Hill pulled one back in the second half, but Frost wasn’t done – completing his hat-trick after some Bergkamp-esque brilliance from Scott Windley – before Cameron Davies sealed the deal late on.

Cai Dorrington levelled for the 2nds at home to Tidenham 2nds before the break, and hit the bar in the second half, but the visitors’ keeper stopped everything else that came his way as it finished 1-1.

Elsewhere in cup action, Monmouth's Rockfield Rovers missed out 3-2 away to Severn Tunnel in the first round of the East Gwent Benevolent Cup after playing the whole of the second half with 10 men.

Tommy Tynan made it 1-1 after 15 minutes, but the hosts led 3-1 at the break after Joe Mudd saw red for a 42nd-minute second yellow card.

Rovers forced an own goal 15 minutes from time to reignite their hopes, but Tunnel held on to win through.

John Hitchins levelled right on the stroke of half-time for Tintern Abbey at Caldicot 3rds, but in another tight cup tussle, the hosts took the spoils with a 74th-minute winner.

Chepstow Town 2nds trailed 1-0 at home to Caldicot Castle after 16 minutes, but turned things round with two goals late in the first half before winning through 5-1.

A Matty Board penalty brought them level before strikes from Riley Best, Mason Haysom, Alfie Owen and an own goal.

Their 3rds also went through 6-3 away to Sudbrook CC 2nds, Peter Haysom and David Edwards putting them 2-0 up within four minutes before Peter Scarfi and Theo White braces secured the victory.
