EARLY East Gwent One leaders Chepstow Town 2nds suffered a 1-0 reverse away to Undy 3rds on Saturday, losing 1-0 to a 16th-minute penalty.

But the Jockeys’ EG2 table-topping 3rds were in seventh heaven winning 7-3 at Monmouth's Rockfield Rovers, Theo White firing a hat-trick and Peter Haysom a brace.

The Jockeys led 2-0 after half an hour before Rovers' Ryan O'Keefe pulled one back in first-half stoppage time.

Mason Hughes then levelled three minutes into the second period, only for Chepstow to seize complete control soon after with three goals in seven minutes, before making it 6-2 on 77 minutes.

Rockfield's Tommy Tynan replied two minutes later, but Haysom with his second three minutes before the end of normal time secured a comprehensive three points to go five points clear.

Tintern Abbey also high-fived it away to Sudbrook 2nds, Andrew Sincock firing four and John Searle the other in a 5-0 win.

But North Gloucestershire 1 table toppers Redbrook Rovers lost out to a late free-kick in a 1-0 reverse away to Staunton & Corse 2nds.

Rovers were missing some key players, but deserved something, with Cam Davies going close in both halves and Ieuan Frost having a goal ruled out for offside, although they remain top.

But the 2nds won 5-2 at home to Rank Outsiders 2nds, despite the visitors taking the lead with a stunning long-range effort and then going 2-1 in front from the spot.

Cai Dorrington replied to the opener almost immediately and two goals from Tom Wareham, and one apiece from Paul Brooks and Madi Cox secured the points to leave Rovers sixth in NG3.
