IN East Gwent Senior League Division Two, father and son Dee and Steve Lovell scored Portskewett and Sudbrook’s goals in the 5-2 defeat by Underwood SC B on the 3G surface at Caldicot Leisure Centre.

“My dad is 60 but he can still play a bit,” Steve said.

“His goal was a bullet header from a great cross. It’s a shame we lost but it was great to play in the same side.”

In the same division, Mathern Reserves B maintained their recent good form with a 4-2 win over Severn Tunnel B at Rogiet Sportsfield.

The match saw a return to the scoresheet for Kyle Gettings who netted twice with Harry Ward scoring from the penalty spot.

With the Reserves A having their match against Chepstow Athletic cancelled, Jack Stewart turned out for the B team to score the fourth.

In the only other match to survive, Sudbrook CC won 1-0 at Thornwell Red and White B.
