Inglefield House, Preparatory School for Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, took part in the IAPS Fencing Championship 2012 for the first time over the weekend of 26th and 27th May at Millfield Prep School.

Three girls competed in the championship, Nancy Hamer-Nickells took part in the Under 9 Girls Foil competition and was awarded third place, receiving a trophy.

Georgina Heath and Megan Linnell took part in the Under 11 competition, participating as younger girls in this category.

Sue Riley, Head of Inglefield House, said: "This was an excellent experience for the girls and we were delighted that they had an opportunity to represent Inglefield House for the first time in this event."

The boys from The Grange, Monmouth Preparatory School also did well with Rui de Sousa Stayton, Edward Baker and Hamish Lawson achieving third, fifth and eighth place respectively in the Under 9 Boys category.
