Two Ex-Monmouth Town footballers will be on television this week.

Fred Beech and Tony Jones are appearing in a new ITV programme called "Let's Get Gold" as members of the Goal'den Oldies team.

The programme is hosted by Vernon Kay and has 15 different sports acts over three nights 5th, 6th & 7th July.

Let's Get Gold will be putting fifteen sporting teams against each other as they try to transform their sport into the most spectacular and entertaining routine.

With a prize fund of £100,000 and judged by Rio Ferdinand, Una Healy, Freddie Flintoff and Martine McCutcheon, the show aims to find groups with the best technique and skill and creativity

The Goal'den Oldies are in the first programme this Thursday at 9pm on ITV. The winner from each night will go through to Saturday's final.

The Goal'den Oldies are made up of players from the Welsh Veterans football teams, and Fred and Tony recently took part in the first ever over-60s international match between Wales and England.

Wales won 4-2 with Fred Beech saving a penalty.

The referee was Welshman Keith Burge, whose last competitive fixture was Manchester United v Aston Villa in 1999.
