On Saturday 17th November, two teams from Monmouth School ran in the Welsh Schools Cross-Country Championships at Brecon.

The team made up of Years 9 and 10 finished fourth overall with Peter Barnes (Year 10) and Josh Sparks (Year 10) running particularly well to finish 13th and 15th respectively.

The second team made up of boys in Years 7 and 8 finished in second place, only three points behind Llanishen High School, Cardiff who came first. To come second in the whole of Wales is a fantastic achievement, especially as five of the six runners were in Year 7, which means they can compete in the same team next year.
