A TALENTED cricketer at Monmouth School for Boys has been presented with his Welsh cap by a distinguished former pupil.

Wicketkeeper Joe Harris, a student in Year 11, enjoyed meeting Old Monmothian Jeremy Lawlor during Cricket Wales’ presentation event at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Jeremy, a professional player at Glamorgan, presented Joe with a cap for having represented Wales Under-15s last summer.

Joe, who plays first-team cricket for the school, also represents Gwent and plays his senior club cricket for Monmouth.

Jeremy, a former pupil at Monmouth School for Boys, also had an excellent season, forcing his way into Glamorgan’s first team, before being named as the county’s Second team Player of the Year.
