LLANARTH 1sts rolled over hosts Radyr 3rds by 100 runs, after Will Heath hit 74, Adam Binmore 45 not out, Chris Bridges 39, Sam Michell 38 and Ollie Mann 29, setting a sizeable 278-6 off 45 overs.

Dan Moseley then took 4-29, Heath 2-18, Mann 2-30 and Dennis Heath 2-32 as the Trees dismissed Radyr for 168 in 42.5 overs, with the win lifting the visitors to second in SEW 5.

The 2nds lost a much tighter game at home to Vale 3rds though, by just 21 runs.

Vale reached 255-8 off 40 overs having been 189-1 at one point, Archie Greenslade taking 4-48, and Andrew Hilditch, Chris Page and Joshua Scoullar one apiece.

Craig Whistance scored 50 off 55 balls in reply, backed by Baxter Squirell with 46, Dave Myatt 26, Gerry Stentiford 26 and Anthony Norris 23,

But after reaching 210-4, the run charge fell away, finishing on 234-9.

Elsewhere, Goodrich 1sts bowled out visitors Gloucester CC 2nds for 153 in 32 overs before securing a four-wicket win in Gloucestershire 5.

Matt Young took 3-14 and Jack Lewis 3-25, backed by Ryan Ward with 2-27 and James O’Brien 1-30.

O’Brien and Joe Provis then shared a 53-run opening partnership, only for the fall of the latter for 16 at the start of the 13th over to spark a mini-collapse, with bowler Hazratwali Ahmadzai taking two more wickets for ducks in the next four balls without further score (53-3).

But O’Brien, skipper Lewis with 16 (79-4) and Chris Tookey then steadied the ship, until the opener’s demise for 47 (125-5).

And after Tookey’s departure for 30 (147-6), Harry Mutlow 10 not out out and Young five not out took them to 156-6 with 2.5 overs to spare.

Llanarth 1sts host Malpas 2nds on Saturday (July 18), while the 2nds travel to play Bridgend Town 4ths.

Goodrich visit Bibury the same day.
