TEENAGE cricket star Tom Norton made history on Saturday by becoming the youngest Championship county cricket debutant to take a wicket hat-trick.
The 18-year-old Abergavenny CC youngster stormed in at Sophia Gardens at home to Somerset to also take the first debut hat-trick in 120 years, as an incredible burst propelled him into the record books.
Despite it being his Championship debut, it's not the first time Tom has hit the headlines in Glamorgan colours.
Last summer, he trapped Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood lbw as he made his competitive Glamorgan 1st XI debut in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup in Cardiff against Leicestershire.
The Abergavenny born and bred right-handed batter and seam bowler, who came through the town club as a youngster and became a regular in the 1st XI in his early teens, took three wickets and three catches on debut and was presented with his Glamorgan cap by team-mate Billy Root, the brother of England star Joe.
With Somerset's starting their second innings 125 in front late in the day, Norton sent opener James Rew back to the pavilion scoreless with a 13-ball duck, finding the outside edge and Asa Tribe taking a smart catch at second slip.
Very next ball, Norton's again found the outside edge, with keeper Chris Cooke taking a simple catch to dismiss Tom Lammonby for a golden duck.
And with the Aber teenager on a hat-trick, next man Archie was then struck on the pad trying to turn the ball away into the leg side and immediately given out by the umpire, sparking wild scenes as his team-mates engulfed him.
At 18 years and 274 days old, Tom is the youngest ever player to take a hat-trick on Championship debut, and the first to take debut treble since since William Benskin for Leicestershire in 1906.
England paceman Jeff Jones was the previous youngest to achieve the feat for Glamorgan aged 20, back in 1962.
Having already taken 3-75 in the first innings, he wasn't finished there either, getting Will Smeed caught behind in the final over for the fifth duck on the Somerset card.
And after helping leave leave the visitors 32-6 at stumps, he said afterwards: "I don't think I can put it into words to be honest.
"It's the most mental 45 minutes I've ever hade on a cricket field. I never thought this would happen.
"I was happy to get my first wicket yesterday, but to take a hat-trick on debut was great, a moment I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
"It was a pretty surreal moment to get a hat-trick and get them six down overnight.
"I remember the balls, I don't remember much of the (on-pitch) celebrations after. I saw the nicks and the lbw, and just ran off wildly.
"I'd said to myself it would be good if we could get two wickets tonight, so it's really good to have them six down.
"Coming back out and taking four is stuff I'd never even dreamed about! It's really special to have my name in the history books."
Glamorgan CCC posted footage of the hat-trick, saying: "Stuff of dreams - you absolute beauty, Tom Norton."
