Monmouth Rugby Club has invested heavily during the off-season, by sponsoring 10 of their young rugby coaches through a Level 2 Coaching Qualification.
Each coach has spent between 60 and 70 hours in attaining their new qualifications, which included two full weekends of classroom study and observed coaching delivery sessions.
The 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Rugby Union is awarded by 1st4sport Qualifications and has been developed in partnership with the National Source Group for Rugby Union.
Group members include the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) and Welsh Rugby Union (WRU).
Chairman of Monmouth Young Rugby Jeremy Hughes is one of the newly-qualified Level 2 coaches.
He said: "We are extremely proud of all of our coaches and volunteers who all dedicate so much of their time and energy to ensuring Monmouth Young Rugby is a safe, fun and progressive environment in which to learn about rugby and broader life skills.
"Much of what has been achieved in recent years would not be possible without the ongoing support of sponsors and benefactors, alongside the ongoing technical assistance from coach development officer Nigel Way and the community team at Newport Gwent Dragons."
Planning for the new season is well underway. If you're interested in playing rugby or looking for a club to join visit the club website.
