Shane Williams is certainly a busy man, with his imminent move to Japan to take up a one-year deal with Tokyo-based outfit Mitsubishi Dynaboars.
The 35-year-old Welsh record test try scorer and former IRB International Player of the Year was on the verge of retirement from the international scene, but said the offer was "too good to miss".
He may be going to the other side of the world but he will be leaving a part of himself behind thanks to The Shane Williams Rugby Academy, which is helping him share his passion for rugby with as many kids as possible, encouraging them to get out of the house and be active.
The Shane Williams Rugby Academy workshops are part of a wider programme of sporting activities aimed at raising fitness and skill levels among the country's young in the run-up to the Olympics and beyond.
Devised in partnership with The Co-operative and organisers Activate Sport, they are also about having fun.
"I believe in creating a fun learning experience in a safe environment, where children aged seven to 16 can express themselves and develop their passion for the game," said Shane.
"We deliver our coaching sessions in a positive and enthusiastic way which helps build the confidence of every participant. We believe that by providing positive role models for the children, they will go away inspired and ready to enjoy the game of rugby for many years to come."
The academy comes to Monmouth from 22nd to 24th August, taking place on Chippenham Mead. The course costs £89 for the three days. Call 0115 9731676 or visit http://www.activatesport.co.uk">www.activatesport.co.uk
With Shane off to Japan, England and Northampton Saints scrum half Lee Dickson is expected to visit the Monmouth academy.
