With reference to Richard Moses’ letter requesting information on the Moses family who lived in Monmouth.

I have no direct link with the family however my brother Richard was at Monmouth Schooll in the 1960s and well remembers a contemporary AG Moses who he recalled came from the Llandogo area.

We as a family used Miss Moses’ store in Wyebridge Street - having a regular grocery delivery on Thursday - initially delivered by bicycle - Mr ‘Pyner’ was the regular welcome arrival with the box of goods as Miss Moses used to put a small twist of sweets in the box for us three youngsters.

I can still visualise the shop and seem to recall a sprinkling of sawdust and blocks of salt and butter.

Obviously the changes came when the shops and houseson the street were demolished together with the pub on the bridge.

If of any intererst please pass it on.
