THE Village Green at Trellech was the venue for the annual presentation of donations by Trellech Country Fayre.

Cheques for £250 were presented to Zac's After School club and the Shell and Adventurers' Clubs.

Representatives from the children's organisations in the village expressed their thanks to TCF Chairman Don Cleaver who presented the donations on behalf of the committee during a presentation evening attended by more than 60 TCF friends and helpers.

Special thanks were expressed to Mr and Mrs McFarlane, the owners of the Village Green restaurant, for their assistance throughout the year and a bouquet was presented to Paggie.

Zac's will be using the new funds to help with their continuing running costs while the Shell and Adventurers Club will be buying table tennis equipment.

Trellech Country Fayre had a good year in 2000 having gained some £1,400 surplus income over expenditure. A good result in 2000 has gone a long way to make up for the two very poor preceding years. Donations of more than £400 have been made n the last year to Ty Hafan Children's Hospice, Rotary, Cwmcarvan Church, Bulwark Scouts and other local good causes.

Despite an excllent day out in the summer and a good turn out at the pensioners' Christmas party all is not well within the organising committee. A shortage of volunteers is likely to result in the event being cancelled in 2001. A final decision will be made at an open committee meeting which will be held at the Village Green at 8.30 pm on Monday, February 12th. Anyone who is interested in spending time either on the day of the main event or during the weeks leading up to the event is urged to attend the meeting.
