A FORMER Welsh international footballer came to Monmouth last week to teach youngsters how to play.

Steven Jenkins, who won 16 caps as a full back between 1995 and 2001, gave youngsters at Kymin View Primary School a coaching session.

The reception class at Kymin View thoroughly enjoyed the session and learned an invaluable lesson in the basic skills of football.

Jenkins, who now lives in Monmouth with his family, played for Swansea, Huddersfield and Birmingham in a league career spanning two decades and is currently player/ assistant manager at Llanlleli, working alongside manager Andy Legg.
