A Monmouth schoolboy has picked up five medals at the National Sprint Canoeing Championships.
Bruce Jones travelled to Holme Pierpoint in Nottingham on a very wild and windy weekend.
He won gold and became the under 16 National Champion with his partner in the K2 500m, picked up two silvers K4 (four-man) at 500m and 1,000m, and two bronze medals – one individual in the 1,000m and a K2 in the 1,000m.
Earlier in the summer holidays, Bruce was invited on his first GB Development Training Camp, again at Holme Pierpoint.
After a very successful weekend, Bruce goes into winter training on a high, after being promoted into Boys A Under 18 for the start of the sprint racing season 2012.
