World Champion Sebastian Loeb brought the Citroen C4 WRC back to Cardiff last Sunday afternoon (14th November) victorious on this year's Wales Rally GB, together with Daniel Elena.

The French duo had endured a titanic battle that lit up the Welsh forests with Norwegian star Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson in their privately-run C4 just 19.1 seconds behind them.

After Thursday evening's superspecial in Cardiff, the event started in ernest on Friday with six stages in Mid-Wales with a mid-day remote service in Builth Wells.

Heavy rain greeted crews in the opening loop of three stages, BP Ford works driver Jari-Matti Latvala set a blistering pace on the opening loop taking the fight to Loeb with both Solberg and Citroen number two Sebastian Ogier all within a few seconds.
