A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her car collided with a stationary vehicle and overturned.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said that officers received a call shortly after 11am on Wednesday (June 24) with a report of a road collision on Alton Street, Ross-on-Wye.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a car had collided with a stationary vehicle and had ended up on its side.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that they had attended the incident at which the woman had been extricated from the overturned vehicle with help from the fire service, and that she was given a full trauma assessment before receiving treatment for injuries not believed to be serious.

She was then taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
