Tintern went on tour to Devon last weekend to take on Tedburn St Mary in an annual fixture played home and away in alternate years.

The fixture was inaugurated 25 years ago and Tintern had not won in Devon since 1990.

After winning the toss, Tintern captain Mark Evans elected to field first. Stuart Williams and Ieuan Ellis (five overs for 19) opened the bowling for Tintern and the pair bowled economically, restricting Tedburn to 32 runs off the first eight overs.

After S Baker was run out, Neil Branton joined Dave Rich and the pair capitalised on the benign conditions to put together the foundations of an excellent score. The 100 was brought up in the 17th over.
