SIR,
The persuasive utterances of Carwyn Jones and Ieuan Wyn Jones, and influences of solicited comments from international Welsh rugby players, caused Welsh voters to overwhelmingly vote 'Yes' in the recent referendum, being convinced they would no longer be regarded as second-class citizens.
Monmouthshire was the exception.
The writing is already on the wall.
The result will be a thrust for separatism.
We can shortly expect to see increases in Welsh Quangos, paid researchers for AM members and more civil servants.
There will be increased demands for rises in remuneration for AM's commensurate with the extra work and responsibilities they incur whilst pondering over new laws, and the proliferation of red tape.
Due to lack of mobility I watch a lot of debates from the Welsh Assembly, even during the late hours.
I am convinced many of them are puerile, patronising, backslapping amateur dramatists.
In the event of Wales achieving separatism I will move to The Royal Forest of Dean, among the "tree huggers", where I will learn my third language.
W Barnard
