SIR
I recently became a volunteer at the Cancer Research shop in Monnow Street for two mornings a week – and what a wonderful and enlightening experience it has proved to be.
An enormous amount of work goes on behind the scenes.
Clothes for instance are sorted, steamed, hung, sized, tagged, dated and priced before reaching the shop floor.
The new enthusiastic manageress Hayley, is dedicated to making the shop fun to visit and one of the best in Monmouth.
She welcomes donations of clean clothes, shoes, handbags, linen, bric a brac etc. and is arranging various themed days to encourage more people to come in and see the quantity and variety of items on sale.
If anyone has a few hours to spare weekly, Hayley would love to welcome you as a volunteer – and you would come away feeling happy that you are part of a team and have given a little time to such a good cause.
For more information on how to volunteer call 01600 772876.
