This years Rally Wales GB is building up to be one of the best battles for victory for many years.
With both drivers and manufacturers titles already decided, all the front runners will be looking to end the year on a high.
Sebastian Loeb the newly crowned World Champion for the seventh consecutive time, will lead the cars away on Thursday evening, keen to end the year with yet another victory. Team mate and French young gun Sebastian Ogier will also be looking to be in the mix come Sunday, Ogier has shown tremendous pace on gravel during the year, and will push hard for victory.
BP Ford duo Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikko Hirvonen will be keen to put a disappointing year behind them with victory in Wales, at times during the year both have taken the fight to the Citroen Team, but have lacked the pace on a consistent level.
Fans favourite Petter Solberg with Chris Patterson alongside in his privately run Citroen C4, would like nothing better than claim victory in Cardiff on Sunday afternoon. The popular Norweigian has had a tremendous season, and shown he is more than capable of being in the mix for victory.
It looks like Wales GB will be the final outing for Spaniard Dani Sordo with the French Manufacturer, he has been an excellent number two to Loeb, but has never taken the top step of the podium.
He has recently been linked to Ford for 2011.
Another driver on what could possibly be his final outing is Kimi Raikkonen, the former Formula1 champion, with a really frustrating year in the Red Bull C4.
Two new boys who will tackling the Welsh forests for the first time is American Ken Block in the Monster World Rally Team Focus WRC, and three time Chinese Rally Champion Liu Chao Dong in the Stobart Ford Focus WRC.
Matthew Wilson is the top British driver on the entry list, in his Stobart backed Focus WRC.
Sadly this will be the end of an era for the WRC cars at World Championship level, with the new regulation 1.6 litre turbo cars coming in next year.
So the Welsh forests will reverberate to the sounds of these cars for one final time.
Further down the field, there is a huge fight for the inaugral Super 2000 title, the three way fight between Finn Jari Ketomaa, Spain's Xavier Pons in a pair of Fiesta S2000's and the man in form, Swede Patrik Sandell in the Skoda Sweden Fabia S2000. But there is a host of other top drivers who could take points off the Championship front runners, Andreas Mikkelsen, Eyvind Brynildsen and Bernardo Sousa to name just three.
Another Swede, Patrik Flodin (Impreza), is the only man who can prevent Armindo Araujo (Lancer Evo 10) from taking back to back PWRC titles.
This year's event promises to be a titanic battle in the Welsh Forests.
