SIR, I would like to give a personal thanks to the residents of Beech Road and Troy Gardens for the wonderful reception they gave to the Walkers are Welcome Commemoration Walk on Sunday (2nd November), who left Castle Hill to walk to Troy Gardens, the site of the old Troy Railway Station. Can you imagine our joy as we walked up Beech Road to see the houses and gardens draped in flags and bunting, with residents waving as we walked by. Troy Gardens had also made a great effort to welcome us all, again flags and bunting filled the cul-de-sac, all residents happy to welcome us. You will, I am sure, read a full report in the Beacon, so it remains for me to say thank you residents for the big part you played on the day, how good it made us all feel Susan White (Monmouth)
