A coffee morning in aid of The Society for the Welfare of Horses and Ponies, (SWHP) had a special visitor on Saturday (17th November).
About a year ago the SWHP were fundraising for Nowzad Dogs - a group dedicated to animal welfare in Afghanistan - and one of the befriended dogs, Katy was brought along to The Priory for the fundraising coffee morning.
Katy was found frozen as a puppy at the roadside on the day of the Royal Wedding, and was cared for by soldiers serving in the war zone, including Marine Stuart Adams, right, of 42 Commando, a grandson of Mr and Mrs Smith of Garway, who is now a Lance Corporal in the Royal Marines.
Katy's handler was Laura Holmes of 1 Military Working Dogs, who last served on operation Herrick 14.
