I am writing to introduce you to Chepstow Walkers are Welcome (CWaW) a local 'not for profit' community organisation, run by an enthusiastic group of volunteers to strengthen Chepstow's reputation as an attractive, hospitable, friendly destination for walkers and visitors alike which in turn benefits the local economy.

With the support of the local community CWaW gained accreditation to the National Walkers are Welcome Scheme in 2012 and have gone from strength to strength.

In April this year we hosted our first Walking Weekend and attracted 162 walkers and plans are well under way for our 2014 event. Also in 2013 we were awarded the National Walkers are Welcome Annual Get Together Conference. Having bid against 8 UK accredited towns we will welcome over 200 walkers to Chepstow in October 2014 and the first in Wales to host this event!

To enable us to continue promoting Chepstow and the lower Wye Valley we are seeking businesses in our locality to become a sponsor.

Later on in the year we will be organising a 'Netwalking' walk for local businesses and it would be great if you could come along. It won't be too long and will no doubt finish up in one of our local hostelries.
