Llangattock’s ploughing society is kicking off their autumn timetable with a tractor run from Hilston Park.

Vintage tractor enthusiasts will meet in a paddock adjoining the Grade II* listed building on Sunday 13th August with a leaving time of 10am.

The route, arranged by organiser Mike Price, will take them around the countryside with a return to Hilston for about 4pm.

The society is grateful to Des Pugh and family for hosting the event.

Entry for the road run is £20 including ploughman’s lunch and raffle tickets all in. Tea and coffee to start.

They will be raising funds for a very worthy cause - the maintenance and refurbishment of defibrillators in the Llangattock, Newcastle and surrounding areas, the home of Llangattock Ploughing Society.

Schedules for the annual ploughing match on Sunday September 17 held on home soil at The Sheilings, courtesy of Jeff Preece and family, are being posted out to competitors on their mailing list except for those where they hold an email address, in which case, a copy will be emailed.

Closing date for entries is Sunday, September 10 but get your entries in early as space may be limited.
