AROUND 500 visitors flocked to the first vintage fayre at Monmouth's Shire Hall last Sunday (6th October), to the delight of its organisers.

The event saw models, including Shire Hall staff, take to the catwalk showing stylish clothes dating from the 1940s to the 1960s.

Visitors also experienced a vintage photo shoot with Betty Noir Photography.

Amanda Peters, trustee and chair of Vintage Vision, said: "This event is a new adventure for us, and we were very pleased with the turnout.

"We have run a number of highly successful fayres in Abergavenny. But Shire Hall is a different type of setting because there's not one big hall, but several different rooms for stall-holders and our vintage cafe."

Vintage Vision has shops in Abergavenny, Blaenavon and Chepstow, and runs sewing workshops, talks and classes on textile recycling and restyling.

It has been shortlisted in the social enterprise category in the 2013 Monmouthshire Business Awards. Winners will be announced this month.

The next Vintage Vision event will be the Chepstow Street Fayre on Saturday 12th October from 10am to 4pm, with another fayre on 24th November at the Market Hall in Abergavenny.
