CROSS Ash is to get a long-awaited 30mph speed limit.

The news has been met with delight from the village school and relief from the local community council, which has been campaigning for a limit for 10 years.

Monmouthshire County Council has proposed a traffic regulation order 'to prohibit vehicles exceeding 30mph on various roads through Cross Ash'.

The reduced speed limit is hoped to raise the level of road safety for school children, residents and 'all highway users'.
