At St Nicholas Church in Trellech there will be a VE Day ‘Trellech Teas’ event, on Thursday May 8 from 2.30pm.
The event will consist of showing historic reels on their big screen and children from Trellech primary school will be singing.
Monmouth Town Council will be holding a VE day celebration on the same day from 3pm. The event will be located at the castle in Monmouth along with some more events happening throughout the day.
In the evening, Haberdashers Monmouth prep school will be lighting up on May 8 at 9.30pm, as it’s the one of the most visible buildings in the town.
Haberdashers prep school on Hereford Road will light up red, white and blue. There will be a ‘scratch’ choir of interested people singing “I vow to thee my country” in front of the building.
Monmouth Town Council will be holding a VE day street party on May 11 from 12pm until 3pm.
The party will be held at Church St Quarter in Monmouth. Monmouth Town Council will be hosting the event with support of the Monmouth chamber of commerce.
The party is 1940s themed and there is a dress up competition.
