USK knows how to put on a good display, especially when the judges for the RHS Champion of Champions come to town.

The Tank School provided armoured transport for Britain in Bloom judges Jon Wheatley and Jim Goodwin to get to Twyn Square yesterday (Thursday 2nd August) in the form of an FV 432 tank.

Alistair Scott from the school, just outside Usk said that he was happy to supply such a fearsome method of transport as he wanted to make their visit a “little special”.

“I wanted to make a small gesture, one that would stand out,” he told the Beacon.

The picturesque town is gunning for glory in the charity’s annual RHS Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions competition with judging taking place across the UK until 10th August.
