A 78-year-old Usk woman died as a result of stab wounds to her chest and neck, an inquest has heard.

Anne Alice Andree Jackson, born March 1939 was found dead at her home on Little Wentwood Farm, in Wentwood Road, near Llantrisant on Saturday 1st November.

She was well-known locally as a poet who wrote under the name Anne Cluysenaar

Her step-son, Timothy Jackson of Mount Street, Sheffield, has been charged with murder contrary to Common Law.

He appeared at Cardiff Crown Court earlier this month and will be back before the court in coming weeks.

Gwent's senior coroner David Bowen, opened and adjourned the inquest due to the ongoing legal proceedings.

He said Mrs Jackson's body would soon be released for funeral purposes.
