Usk Show was once again hailed as a great success on 12th September, and organisers were pleased that the day ran so smoothly.

Faye Mear, secretary of Usk Show said: “We had 22,500 visitors on the day who enjoyed a dry, mostly sunny day, apart from one cloud-burst at lunchtime. People enjoyed the displays in the Main and Countryside rings, particularly the new display from Black Mountains Falconry using their Spanish stallion working with the Falcons. It was a record-breakingly busy day for the Charity Companion Dog Show which raised over £600 for Faceup Cymru (Head and Neck Cancer Support).

“Children thronged to the new free childrens activity area run by Junkfish, where they could play indoors or out, create make-and-take crafts, or simply ‘takefive’ have a cwtch and read a book!

“I am very pleased by the success of the day once again. I am thrilled we had so many visitors and have received so many compliments. I cannot thank the team of volunteers and show supporters, who work so hard to ensure we give such a great day out that is enjoyed by so many, enough.

They are the people who give Usk Show it’s ‘magic’.

“A special personal thanks to the Committee members who help and support me throughout, particularly this year.”
