SIR,
I fully endorse the letter regarding the state of the tunnel underneath the A40.
I am a frequent user of the tunnel and it is not a pleasant experience.
Unfortunately, due to neglect, it is not just a coat of paint needed, but a major undertaking.
I have not voiced my concern before as I was hoping that Monmouth School may complain.
They use it to get to their sports facilities and I think their voice would be listened to more than mine.
I think it really needs urgent action.
It is used by visitors using the Perigrine Trail and The Offa's Dyke path, as well as other schools visiting Monmouth School.
It really doesn't give a very good first impression.
