SIR, I was shocked to read the recent letter saying that UKIP is the only alternative to the Conservatives in Monmouthshire. I am supporting, with many others in Monmouthshire, the Labour candidate Ruth Jones. She has worked hard for the NHS for many years, she is inspiring and can win next year and is exactly the type of person we need to see more of in Parliament. UKIP is a one trick pony, with one policy - to get out of Europe – a Europe that has supported Wales in so many ways. How could UKIP possibly be an alternative? Catherine Fookes (Monmouth)
