THE building of a two bedroom bungalow at Ty Castle Farm, Monmouth has been recommended for refusal by Monmouthshire County Council (MCC).

The 90-square-metre bungalow is proposed to be situated in close proximity to the existing poultry units at the farm.

The bungalow would be used by the manager and his children and there are currently no dwellings at Ty Castle.

The principle of establishing a rural enterprise dwelling in the location failed to satisfy the required tests. According to MCC it also fails to meet the required financial test set out by Welsh Government.

MCC's planning committee will meet next Tuesday (5th May) to discuss the plans.
