SIR,
Through your letters page I wish to pay tribute to Robert Davies, whose death was announced in your previous edition.
Not only was he an excellent hairdresser while he continued to work in this town, but he was always a kind neighbour, along with his family, as my children and I will remember with gratitude.
Despite his ill health, Robert continued to make time for others of us who were suffering illness. He was not only a gentle man, but also a true gentleman.
He will be missed by the community which he served for so long. Those of us who knew him will remember him with affection.
Margaret Johns
(Monmouth)
