SIR,

I would like to express my concerns about the trees that shield our houses on King Henry V Estate from the Link Road.

While they are a necessity for privacy, they do not need to be so high.

A lot of the residents in my street (St Crispin Close) that back onto the Link Road not only have very little light, and damp cold houses, we also struggle to obtain signal for our televisions through Sky satellite dishes.

Some residents have been without television for the past four months.

One resident's house has a tree over hanging onto the roof of her house. They also pose a threat during high winds.

While residents have been in touch with the council and the Environment Agency, no-one is willing to take responsibility for the maintenance of these trees.

The type of trees planted were a bit silly as they grow up high, rather than use shorter widespread evergreen trees or bushes that would provide the necessary privacy all year round.

Nick Ramsay AM and David Davies MP have both been contacted for help on this subject; the latter I am in the process of waiting for a reply.

It is time something was done to help us residents who pay our council tax like everyone else, but seem to be ignored.
