PUPILS at Raglan VC Primary School enjoyed a glimpse of the sun, just in time for a spot of digging!

The school, which took part in a competition called "cleaner, greener and safer ways to travel," along with four other local schools, were given trees to plant, as part of the Campaign for Rural Wales.

The tree planting was assisted by Hazel Clatworthy, environmental co-ordinator and by Eddie Young and senior county councillor Bob Wilcox.

The small beech and cherry trees are expected to grow to their full size in around 15-20 years' time, so it is likely that the children of the pupils who attend Raglan School at present, will be able to see the trees in all their glory.
