CHEPSTOW Show made its triumphant return to the town's racecourse last Saturday (10th August) as thousands attended the family day out.

Attractions included livestock, horses, local produce, vintage transport and children's entertainment.

Also a hit with the fans were displays from the Forest of Dean Carriage Driving Association, the Rockwood Dog Display Team and the Rowan Working Horses.

Organisers were delighted to see the weather hold off and the sun shine, after continued downpours forced the event to be cancelled last year.

The Chepstow Lions were on hand volunteering throughout the day to get the 10,000 show-goers through the gates and parked on site.

Show secretary Sarah Davies said: "Returning to an old venue with a prime location to the town was a huge benefit to the show.

"We look forward to returning to the racecourse next year and have taken on board any comments for improvements for the 2014 show.

"Thank you to all who attended, entered and to the committee who worked hard to put the show together."
