MONMOUTH Town Council has agreed to pay for the placement of a bench in memory of the late Graham Powell.
A request from Graham's wife Sue Powell was heard at a meeting of the council on Monday (19th July).
Graham was a Mace bearer for the council for many years and died in May last year.
Councillor Sue Chivers proposed that the council should pay for a bench as "he deserves a whole raft of benches."
It was unanimously decided to purchase a bench and plaque.
