My attention has been drawn to possible changes to the provision of tourist information in Monmouthshire.
This concerns me as a Monmouth town councillor, together with a large number of members of the public.
The town council, as far as I am aware, has not yet been consulted on any potential changes to this service.
This lack of information from Monmouthshire County Council constrains and frustrates Monmouth Town Council's ability to respond to this situation.
I have spoken to several town and county councillors who are also unaware of the exact situation.
We understand that in these uncertain times, changes to how this service is provided may need to be made, but the public have the right to be informed of any changes.
The town council will, I'm sure, want to be involved in any consultation and as to any contribution it may possibly consider making to preserve this essential service in this beautiful and historic area that relies so heavily on tourism as a major source for employment and provision of services.
