CHEPSTOW Town Council has expressed its "extreme concern" over several changes in the position of police inspector in the town.
Voiced in the letter were the council's fears over how the relationship between the police and town council could be affected by the changes. The letter said: "The town council is of the view that the frequent change in policing inspectors and the short duration of their tenures is particularly disruptive and detrimental to the provision of policing services in the area.
"It is also unsatisfactory in respect of the town council's working relationship with the local police."
The town council received a response from Chief Constable Jeff Farrar who has responsibility for operational policing and deployment.
In the letter he informs the council that communication will take place between Chepstow Town Council and a senior member of the policing team.
Chepstow Town Council will meet today (28th January) to discuss the response.
